And as we grew older ... the obsession with colouring our hair never fades. Our twenties/thirties are plagued with lowlights, highlights, ombre, and root control. And for those who may have since grown a bit older ... well, just trying to get our natural hair colour back is a colour process on its own.
What can we all agree on: hair colour is fun.
And it's meant to be. Changing your hair colour is a great way to express yourself, to reinvent, and to explore style.
During a recent BlushPretty Presents event at the studio, we introduced Splat Rebellious Colour. Each of our guests chose one bold colour to dip dye their hair. Splat is a semi-permanent hair colour kit consisting of mainy bright colours from Lusty Lavendar to Pink Fetish to Aqua Rush ... by the names along, I'm sure you can tell just how bright the colours were.
Splat kits are complete with gloves, colour and if needed, bleach.
Each of the guests were impressed at the ease (given the equipment restraints of the studio) and colour payoff from Splat. Two of our guests had much darker hair, which required me to bleach their strands first. The great thing about having this bleach right in the box is that it is one less thing for you to buy.
Like any hair colour product, reading the instructions and monitoring your time is key. For those with darker hair, who want the dip-dye look, it's important to take your time with the bleach, apply it carefully and monitor it. For some, it will turn lighter in a few moments, for others, you will need to keep it on just a tad longer.
And same goes for applying your bright+bold Splat colour. Leaving it on for just a few minutes results in great colour, but a quicker washout. Leaving it in for longer may allow you to keep the colour for a few more weeks than expected.
I highly suggest Splat for hair colour fun ... we had plenty of fun dip-dyeing away at the studio!

*her hair is still wet in this picture ... and i'm not the best photog ... but you can see she got great results given the darkness of her hair!
